As Vice Chairman and Standard Bearer for the Wiveliscombe branch of the Royal British Legion and Charity Steward of Quantock lodge no. 4446, Steven Wort soon realised that the restrictions on ‘street collections’ would severely impact on their Remembrance Day fundraising
So, in true Freemasons style, he decided to do something about it – by running 111.1 miles in the Poppy Run Challenge.
He achieved this over 3 weeks culminating with a half marathon of 13.1 miles. The distance equates to the 11th hour of the 11th month and Steven raised an impressive £1730 which included donations from Quantock Lodge and Loyal Vacation Lodge No. 6209, where he is Senior Warden.
