Sue Wiffen, Deputy Home Manager at Zetland Court, recently contacted the Dorset Freemasonry Comms Team
Sue works in the ‘Red Admiral View’ Dementia Unit and would often show the residents posts from the Dorset Freemasonry Facebook page. Sue could tell that the residents found the images pleasing as they recognised the regalia, brethren and crests etc.
As a result of Sue contacting Dorset Freemasonry we have begun to share photographs from our archives. Sue has obtained the necessary permission(s) from family members to share images of the residents whilst being shown photographs printed from our social media pages.
We have promised Sue that we will send her updated images on a regular basis.
Sue said, 'Red Admiral View residents have enjoyed seeing these photographs. They have provoked fond memories and sparked conversation with the other residents and staff team. It has been lovely to see the photos and we look forward to having more to show and use in our discussion groups. Several of our residents have masonic connections and it is great for residents to be able to speak to others and reminisce about the Freemasons'.
Red Admiral View has its own sensory garden and sensory room, magic table, memory boxes, tablets and laptops to support communication and engagement with residents. More information can be found at Zetland Court, Bournemouth - RMBI
