Provincial Grand Chapter of Dorset Convocation

Congratulations to all Companions Appointed and Invested at the Provincial Grand Chapter of Dorset Convocation which took place at the Hamworthy Club, Canford Magna on Saturday 25th June, under the combined banners of Chapter of Unity No. 386, and Chapter of Faith and Unanimity No. 417. Every Chapter in Dorset was represented
 
The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent Graham Glazier opened the Chapter accompanied by Second Principle Clive Wincott Deakin and Third Principle David Sandall. Graham welcomed a retinue of distinguished guests from numerous Provinces.
 
Guests from the following Provinces were in attendance; Berkshire, Bristol, Cornwall, Hampshire and Isle of Wight, Hertfordshire, Somerset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Devonshire, Sussex, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Surrey.
 
The Convocation was graced by the company of Gareth Jones OBE and Third Grand Principal. Gareth commended Dorset Companions on hosting a joyful occasion and praised the challenge to attract Brethren into the Royal Arch to continue their Masonic journey through Pure and Ancient Freemasonry.
 
In recognition of his outstanding contribution to the success and development of the Royal Arch in Dorset, Graham was pleased to present a Certificate of Exemplary Service to Past Deputy Grand Superintendent Ron Kiver. A renowned historian and researcher into Holy Royal Arch archives, Ron published a book on the history of St. Aldhelm’s Chapter No.2559 to celebrate the Centenary Convocation earlier this year. In November, Ron will be Installed as 1st Principal of the Chapter, a position he first occupied in 1992.
 
After the meeting Companions enjoyed a splendid luncheon of pate, braised steak with dauphinoise potatoes and vegetables an excellent cheese board and tea/coffee, mints and wines.
