North Wales Freemasons have donated £5,000 to Awyr Las, the North Wales National Health Services (NHS) Charity, to purchase 50 PC tablets

The charity supports all North Wales NHS healthcare services and staff within Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and the 50 PC tablets will provide huge comfort to patients and their families

Upon hearing the news that visitors are no longer allowed to visit hospitals across North Wales in a bid to reduce the spread of the coronavirus, North Wales Freemasons were determined to help front line staff to enhance patient care.

During this time, patients will be separated from their family and friends, which will be incredibly hard for them all.

‘Awyr Las are extremely grateful to the Freemasonry community for the amazing support they already give to our A+E, and MIU departments across North Wales,’ said Nia Williams, Support Manager.

‘This generous donation will help by using technology which will enable patients to have face-to-face communications with their loved ones using tablet PC’s.’

John Hoult, Head of North Wales Freemasons, said: ‘Our hearts and thoughts go out to those affected by this unpararlleled event, we cannot thank the doctors, nurses and front line NHS staff enough during this time of crisis. We are proud to play our part in supporting our local community.’
