Monday, 10 May 2021

Members of Cambria Meridian Lodge No. 9876 raised the sum of £1,000 which was match-funded by a further £1,000 from North Wales Freemasons Charity

The donation coincided with a private visit by HRH Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, who is a keen supporter of the Men’s and Women's Sheds UK.

Head of North Wales Freemasons, John Hoult, together with Lodge Secretary Nigel Ellis, were invited to represent Cambria Meridian and introduced to HRH by Shane Owen, Chairperson of the local community-based charity. Rhyl Men’s Shed was the first Community Shed to be established in North Wales and has been in existence since September 2013.

Shane Owen, Chairperson said, 'We are extremely grateful to Cambria Meridian and North Wales Freemasons Charity for their generous donation.'

Cambria Meridian was established in November 2012 and meets four times per year at Elwy Hall, Rhyl. Having been unable to meet during the Covid-19 pandemic, Members wanted to show their continued support for the local community.
