Numerous Lodges and Chapters including Gothic Lodge, Deva Lodge, Clarence Chapter and many more have donated money and time so support Share shop Chester

Adam Dandy, the son of James Dandy, a Cheshire Freemason founder of Share shop Chester, went to Poland at the weekend to buy supplies of food etc to help the refugees fleeing the war In Ukrainian. We have received the following thanks from Share shop:

'Thanks for all your support, please could you pass on this update to everyone who has enabled us to offer much needed support to Ukrainians fleeing their country?'

Shareshop Chester Update:

Today we’ve been able to cook and distribute hot food and drinks on the border crossing point, which we’ve bought from local stores, we’ve also travelled to a local wholesaler and bought large tables and chairs to help establish a Refugee Command Centre, which will be used to help coordinate many of the different charities and volunteers turning up to help.

We’ve also been able to support a group of ex-British military volunteers who are taking vehicles over the border into Ukraine to extract orphans to safety, as we speak they’ve gone in to extract a family with a severely disabled daughter, after which the family will be flown to live with a family in Sweden who have volunteered to house them. The most heart-breaking thing here is the number of young children who are crossing the border alone. The risk of sex trafficking is extremely high here.

One volunteer broke down in tears, as she told us of children being separated from their parents at the local train station in Przemyśl, due to the sheer numbers of people and a lack of coordination from authorities, leading to families being split up and getting on different trains going to different locations, with some trains going on to Krakow and others going nonstop towards Germany. Our trip expenses have been fully sponsored by a local company in Chester and therefore every penny you’ve donated for our appeal at Share will be used to help people on the ground.
