International Media Success of Virtual Burns Night held by Cheshire Freemasons

Tuesday, 09 February 2021

On Friday 29th January, The James Thompson and Stanlow Lodges of Cheshire collaborated with the Lodge of Dunblane to produce a Virtual Burns Night which was held on Zoom, with participants including Freemasons from Australia, Canada and Greece, and a number of dignitaries, including the Provincial Grand Master (PGM) of Perthshire West, who was welcomed by Cheshire's own Deputy Provincial Grand Master David Dyson.

The event ran for just over an hour and was also streamed live on the Province of Cheshire’s Facebook feed, as well as being cascaded to other sites, locally, nationally and internationally.

At the time that this post was written, the video had been watched over 2000 times. It was also noted that the respective charities, including Maggie's Charity for Cheshire and the Strathcarron Hospice in Scotland benefitted from the event and the generosity of the participants. The team are already working on another venture, for later in the year.
