How do you like Freemasonry in the morning?

Wednesday, 06 October 2021

There’s not a gavel in sight and the only aprons are worn by kitchen staff, but the chatter of conversation signals the other great ritual is under way – the full English

This time it happens at the Steamboat Cookhouse and Pub on Skegness seafront in Lincolnshire, where the inaugural Brothers Breakfast Meeting took place once Covid restrictions allowed.

It was attended by about 30 people, including members, candidates in waiting, and partners, to offer a rounded view of Freemasonry.

Organiser Simon Noden: 'When we're officially out of lockdown I contacted The Steamboat setting a date and time for our first Brothers Breakfast Meeting.

'For Freemasons, there are four important values that help define our path through life: Integrity, Respect, Friendship, and Charity. The social side of Freemasonry is now as important as it’s ever been, and as we start to return to our lodges, it will have been about 18 months since we all met socially. All are welcome to our breakfast meeting, which may be the perfect environment to bring along anyone who is thinking of joining Freemasonry.'
