Devonshire Freemason marks NHS Frontline Workers' Day

Tuesday, 06 July 2021

Devonshire Freemason Walker Lapthorne has raised the flag to show his support for the NHS

His hero is wife Deb, who retired in April, after over 40 years’ service to the NHS. Starting as a State Registered Nurse, she rose up to be one of the first non–doctors to be a Director of Public Health, initially responsible for Plymouth.

She spent her last 15 months with the NHS, as the South West Regional Director for Public Health, leading the regions strategic response to the Covid-19 crisis.

Walker said: 'I could not be more proud of her and how hard she worked, particularly in the early stages of the Covid-19 Pandemic.'
