It was 10 out of 10 for Hampshire and Isle of Wight’s Past Provincial Grand Master
The consecration of the Province’s new Country Sports Lodge proved a wonderfully emotional day with Provincial Grand Master Jon Whitaker inviting his predecessor Mike Wilks to take the chair as the Consecrating Officer for the ceremony. The invitation enabled Mike to fulfil his aim of consecrating 10 Special Interest Lodges.
The consecration ceremony, originally planned for May 2020 in the final year of the Past Provincial Grand Master’s ten years of office, unfortunately became one of the casualties of the lockdown. The much-awaited occasion eventually held this this year on Friday February 4th at Botley Masonic Centre was attended to full capacity and was a great experience for the Country Sports Lodge founders and their guests.
Following the ceremony and inaugural meeting, Primus Master Bill Withers presented the Past Provincial Grand Master with a marvellous surprise memento depicting the 10 Special Interest Lodges. Mike Wilks received the gift of the beautifully embroidered logos saying: 'A great memento of a great day, reflecting on ten wonderful years. I’m so grateful to the PGM for the privilege.'
