The Cambridgeshire Light Blues were delighted to make the draw for the Chairman’s Raffle at the Festive Board of The Lodge of Three Grand Principles No. 441. The night was an official Buddies Scheme visit at which ten recent Initiates and Fellowcrafts from the length and breadth of the Province came to see an initiation
The raffle raised a grand total of £1,000 of which £400 was donated to Cambridgeshire’s Festival 2023, £300 to Cambridge Caring for the Homeless, and a further £300 to Soham Community Group.
The donation to Soham Community Group will be used to facilitate a day tip for local pensioners whilst the donation to Cambridge Caring for the Homeless will be used to purchase sleeping bags, socks, underwear, coffee, sugar and snacks to be distributed to the local homeless community.
Ed Williams, who will be appointed as Cambridgeshire’s Provincial Grand Membership Officer in June, said: 'The donation to Cambridge Caring for the Homeless was particularly timely as Terence Parsons, one of our Committee members, was busy out on the streets of Cambridge supporting the charity that very evening. We are very proud to have Terence as one of our members and encourage anyone who would like to help him to get in touch'. He added: 'On behalf of the Cambridgeshire Light Blues committee I’d like to thank all the Brethren who purchased tickets and enabled us to raise such an impressive sum for such worthy causes.'
