The Bucks Masonic Centenary Fund (BMCF) were delighted to award MK Carers £330, enabling them to treat 30 adult carers to an afternoon tea at Dobbies Garden Centre in Bletchley
Many of the carers look after loved ones who are incapacitated and require round the clock care. Most of the people who are assisted by the carers need support to be able to leave home even for a short time.
The afternoon gave them a chance to catch up with other carers to have a light-hearted chat, tea and cakes.
Buckinghamshire's Assistant Provincial Grand Master Phil Blacklaw, Andrew Hough (BMCF Secretary), Mike Clanfield (Bucks Charity Steward) and John Waller (Bucks Communcations Officer) were invited to attend the afternoon tea by Beth Sawyers of MK Carers.
It was an enjoyable afternoon, with good company and a well-deserved break for the carers.
One of the carers said: 'It was so lovely to have some time away from my responsibilities and meet other carers. It is impossible to overestimate the benefits of some time off. Thank you to the Freemasons.'
