2021 marks the 250th Anniversary of the formation of the Province of Suffolk in 1771. The Province celebrated the occasion with a meeting of Provincial Grand Lodge at Royal Holbrook School on the 29th October with an illustrated presentation attended by Sir David Wootton, Assistant Grand Master
In order to mark the occasion more permanently, it was decided to create a new Lodge with a membership based on the Rulers of the Province and it’s Past Active Wardens. A lodge with a membership of vast experience, and a place for those Brethren to meet and share their endeavours in creating the wonderful Province of Suffolk, which exists today. It’s uniqueness is further expanded by it’s Lodge Number, Ten Thousand and fourteen – The first Lodge in Suffolk with 5 numbers. A Day time Lodge meeting two times per year, at various Masonic Centres across the county. The Consecration Ceremony of this new Lodge, named ‘Suffolk 250 Lodge No 10014’ was carried out on the 28th September 2021 at Ashlar House, Bury St Edmunds with over 100 Brethren in attendance.
A wonderful occasion enjoyed by all.
