1996 Masters support of Deputy Provincial Grand Master

Friday, 20 May 2022

Friday the 13th may be unlucky for some but definitely not for the regular Installation meeting of the Cambridgeshire Installed Master’s Lodge No.7429

Pat Kilby, Deputy Provincial Grand Master, having completed his year as Master of Cambridgeshire Installed Master’s Lodge and due to install his successor William Dastur, Provincial Grand Master, called for support from some of his fellow Masters from the 'Class of 1996'.

Supporting the Inner workings of the Installation of the Provincial Grand Master were Brian Elliott of Kynaston Lodge occupying the chair of Senior Warden, David Fountain of Caldwell Lodge occupying the chair of Junior Warden and Vic Richards of Stone Cross Lodge acting as Inner Guard, all of which truly demonstrates the continuing strong bonds of mutual support and friendship which is at the core of successful Freemasonry.

Cambridgeshire is well-known for its 'circuit' which sees the Master of every Cambridgeshire Lodge invited to every Installation meeting within the Province, resulting in strong links and life-long friendships being formed and maintained.

The evening, attended by well over 70 brethren including representatives from the Installed Masters Lodges of Norfolk, Bedfordshire, Suffolk and Buckinghamshire, saw the Installation undertaken in fine style by Kilby. Concluding the meeting in traditional style, the newly installed Master gave a very interesting talk entitled 'Masonry and the man' regarding his early career and journey in Freemasonry which ended with some thought-provoking ideas for the future. All the brethren then retired to enjoy a superb champagne reception followed by Festive Board.
