Canonbury Masonic Research Centre

The CMRC has an impressive number of interesting events planned for Autumn. The Wednesday public lectures, for masons and non-masons, 7.00 – 9.00 pm, entry fee £6.00:
16 October: Jeremy Naydler, MA, The Pattern of Initiation in Ancient Egypt.
20 November: Prof. John Algeo, Freemasonry and the Western Mystery Tradition.
11 December: Dr. Leon Schlamm, Jung as Shaman & Visionary.

CMRC Fourth International Conference, 2nd – 3rd November: Freemasonry – Beyond the Craft. An international forum of speakers offer insights into the degrees and their legacy to the host society. Conference fee £68.00. Open to non-masons.

Centre for Research into Freemasonry, Sheffield University

The first seminar of the academic season 2002-3 begins Wednesday 16 October, 5.15 pm. Andrew Pink (Goldsmiths’ College, London) will speak on his research into Freemasonry and musical life in 18th Century London.
11 December, Sean Creighton and Andrew Prescott will speak on the Friendly Societies and Freemasonry.

The Cornerstone Society

Following on from the great success of the London conference in June, the second northern conference is planned for November. It will be held at the "Cheshire View", Christleton, Chester, on Saturday 9th November 2002, between 10.00 and 4.30 pm.
The Cornerstone Society was set up in 1999 to promote understanding of the deeper meaning and purpose of Freemasonry and the profound spirituality at its core.
Speakers who have confirmed are Julian Rees, "In the Spirit of Freemasonry"; John Acaster, "What is Freemasonry"; the Revd. Neville Barker Cryer, "The Restoration Lodge of Chester"; Richard Knox-Johnson, "Rosslyn Chapel". All Master Masons in a lodge working under, or recognised by, the United Grand Lodge of England, are very welcome.
